August 3, 2026 - National Weather Service officials report the Heat Advisory is now in effect until 8:00 PM PDT Wednesday.

Dangerous Heat will continue in the San Joaquin Valley, west side hills, lower Sierra Nevada foothills, Lake Isabella, and the Kern River Valley until at least Wednesday.

Widespread triple digit heat will persist in these areas with overnight lows in the 70s at the hottest locations.

A Moderate Risk for Elevated Fire Danger will persist across much of Central California through at least midweek with the combination of seasonably dry vegetation and very low humidity.

Most areas will see winds less than 15 mph, but a few locations will see gusts from 15-25 mph.
