Law Enforcement Activity in the La Grange Area
August 28, 2026 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday morning, at approximately 1:54 a.m., the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) received a call from an 81-year-old Confidential Victim (CV) reporting being attacked by Cinthia Lana Beglinger, age 44, of La Grange, CA, who entered CV’s home while CV was sleeping. The CV reported several injuries as a result of Beglinger’s attack and that Beglinger was in her trailer on the property.
Deputies arrived on scene and contacted CV. While on scene, deputies observed injuries consistent with skin tearing, lacerations to the hands, face and head; to include CV’s left ear being partially torn off. Deputies secured the scene and called for an ambulance to treat and transport CV to the hospital for medical care.
Deputies remained on scene, and Beglinger was informed that she was going to be arrested for multiple violent felonies. After several attempts to establish communication, the suspect barricaded herself inside of a travel trailer. Deputies attempted to talk Beglinger out of the trailer when she started making threats to shoot deputies. Beglinger refused to exit the trailer and started covering the windows.
The TCSO Crisis Response Unit (CRU) responded to the scene. The CRU consists of the TCSO Crisis Negotiation Team and TCSO SWAT Team. Crisis negotiators spoke with Beglinger for hours in attempts to facilitate a peaceful resolution, but she ultimately refused to be taken into custody.
Sheriff’s Detectives authored and obtained a warrant for Belinger, which was approved by a Tuolumne County Superior Court Judge.
TCSO SWAT Team deployed chemical agents in preparation to make entry and arrest Belinger. Upon entry, Beglinger was located in the rear of the trailer and became combative with sheriff’s deputies, resulting in one deputy sustaining an injury that did not require medical treatment or hospitalization. Beglinger was handcuffed and removed from the trailer where she continued to attack deputies, which resulted Belinger being placed in a WRAP restraint and protective helmet.

Beglinger was evaluated by medical personnel at the scene and taken to Adventist Health Sonora for jail clearance.
Beglinger is currently charged with:
- 203 PC – Mayhem (Felony)
- 368(B)(1) PC – Aggravated injury to an elder/dependent adult (Felony)
- 459 PC – Burglary/Breaking and Entering in the First Degree (Felony)
- 148(A)(1) PC – Obstructing/resisting a peace officer (Misdemeanor)
- 69(A) PC – Aggravated obstructing/resisting an executive officer (Felony)
The animals associated with this incident were accounted for by Sheriff’s Animal Control Officers; with no injuries reported.
