He sustained a life-threatening wound after being accidentally shot. The incident occurred around 3:45 pm on Monday while on duty at a business park near the intersection of Clinton and Winery Avenues in Fresno.
After being shot, the deputy was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Fresno County Sheriffs detectives are investigating this incident to determine how the gun was accidentally discharged.
