September 15, 2026 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and CHP Team Up to Rescue Injured Rock Climber

On September 11th, deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team, along with the California Highway Patrol’s Air Unit out of Paso Robles, responded to an injured rock climber. The man badly hurt his foot when he fell scaling down Power Dome at Courtright Reservoir.

Friends of the injured climber helped to package him up to be hoisted out. CHP’s H-70 helicopter then lowered a deputy down to assist with hooking him up to the hoist. CHP’s air team them flew the man out to be treated by medics.

Great work as well by our deputy assigned to the Drone Unit who monitored the situation and captured this incredible video.
