September 21, 2026 - The Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) reports the Climate and Wildfire Institute recently debuted a new tool to help California homeowners locate resources to help pay for home hardening. ResilientHomeFund.org is intended to be a one-stop digital hub for finding federal, state, and local grants to fund wildfire home hardening and defensible space. After answering a short quiz, homeowners can get a personalized list of programs they may be eligible for.  

The resource includes funding programs for property resilience projects that may qualify under natural disasters beyond wildfire when mitigations measures overlap. This may include native and drought tolerant landscaping, earthquake retrofitting, and energy efficiency.
