Attempting to Locate 

September 30, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that the Yuba City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Jose “Jay” Yepez, 18, of Linda, whom investigators have identified as a person of interest in connection with the July 26, 2026, shooting investigation that resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

Investigators believe Yepez may have left the area following the shooting and may have ties to the Modesto area and Mexico.

Yepez should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach, contact, or attempt to detain him.

Anyone with information regarding Yepez's whereabouts or information concerning the July 26 homicide investigation is asked to contact Detective Swallow at 530-822-2082.

This request is intended to assist investigators in locating Yepez. No determination of criminal responsibility should be inferred from this request.
