October 1, 2026 – LOS ANGELES, CA – A 36-year-old Florida woman has been indicted for attempting to kill musician Rihanna after she fired a semiautomatic rifle at the singer’s Beverly Crest home earlier this year.

“Every person deserves to feel safe in and around their home,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “Shooting at an occupied home is a serious, violent crime that is both reckless and dangerous. It is pure luck and not a matter of restraint that no one was killed or injured.”

An indictment was unsealed today against Ivanna Lisette Ortiz (36) of Orlando, Florida, charging her with one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with an assault weapon and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.

She pleaded not guilty and is set to return on October 29 for a pretrial hearing in Department 112 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Bail was set at $2.65 million.

The indictment was returned on June 18.

On March 8, at about 1:20 p.m., Ortiz is accused of driving up to the front of a home belonging to Rihanna in the 9500 block of Heather Road and firing an assault weapon multiple times at the house. Rihanna, her boyfriend, their children and several other people were on the musician’s property as well as in an adjacent home, but no one was struck by gunfire.

The charges filed in this case are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
