One-Way Traffic Controls on State Routes 49 & 140 for October 4-10, 2026 

October 3, 2026 – Mariposa County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-140 in Mariposa County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

STATE ROUTE 49

  • One-way traffic control from Harris Road to Kimbell Road for drainage work beginning Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Mariposa Creek to Whitlock Road for shoulder work on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 140

  • One-way traffic control from Smith Road to Slaughterhouse Road for shoulder work beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or construction related issues.
