The Character Counts! six pillars of character.
Last Friday, staff, including teachers Wendy Baumann, Chivonne Wilde, and Teena Starchman, and Aide Andrea Contreras, kicked off this year's Character Counts! program with an assembly full of fun skits demonstrating the six pillars of character.
For the month of September, SFCS is working with students on the pillar Respect. Throughout the month, students will be participating in activities that explore what this word means. Every Wednesday, students and staff are encouraged to wear yellow to school to show their support for Respect.
Teacher Teena Starchman poses with students Trevor McClard and Bryce Cole. They are all wearing yellow in support of the Character Counts! pillar of Respect.
At the end of the month, two students from each classroom will be recognized at an assembly for their stellar demonstration of respectful behavior.
Each month, another pillar will be featured at school.
