Vivian Helena Aumond-Capone
Fiber, Jewelry, Mixed Media

Vivian-Helena-BrilliantSkyCreating art is a big part of Vivian’s day.  “All sorts of ideas float around in my mind, pinning them down is the fun part.  I indulge in a variety of art mediums, oils, watercolor, mixed media, gourds, jewelry and photography”.

“Mixed Media Fiber Art, gives me free rein to create and surprise the viewer with a tactile surface.”  She enjoys working with Fiber and Gourds but also enjoys creating new pieces of jewelry from her collection of beads and found objects.  Little surprises are added to her art quilts.  When viewing her pieces you can see the texture added from hand stitching and beading.

Teaching fabric dyeing at her home studio in Coarsegold is also one of her passions. “I am not exacting about the process, but spontaneous, and the surprises that come after the fabric is washed and ironed is inspirational.”

Her gourd necklace, “Heart and Hands” can be seen in a book by Lark Books.  “Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry”.  “Shrine to Land and Sky” can be seen in 1000 Artisan Textiles. Many of her fiber pieces have been shown in magazines. She ribboned with her Fiber Piece, “The Neighborhood” in an ACA Art Show.  Her Traditional quilt, Variable Stars will be featured in 500 Traditional Quilts and be part of a traveling exhibition.

Vivian’s fiber art can be quiet and thought provoking, or wild and colorful. Her series “kites” are a mix of ideas and fabrics. They give the impression of flying high in the sky with a tail of ribbons, beads and yarns. “Yellow Rose of Texas” ribboned at the Yosemite Western Artists show and last were last seen as a series at the Cornell Museum in Florida

She is a member of Studio Art Quilting Asso,, Sierra Art Trails Home Studio Tours, Yosemite Western Artists, Sierra Mountain Quilters, Madera Arts Gallery, Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst, Postmarkd’art, P.E.O, Member of C & T Publishers Creative Troupe.
