Sexual Assault in Encinitas 

March 27, 2024 - San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials report that the Child Abuse Unit has arrested 21-year-old Omar Galeana for the sexual assault of san diego county sheriff department logoa 12-year-old victim.  Galeana was a campus supervisor at Diegueno Middle School in Encinitas when he met with the victim outside of school hours on Friday, March 22.

When the incident was reported to law enforcement, detectives from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station and the Child Abuse Unit immediately initiated an investigation.  On Sunday, March 24, detectives arrested Galeana and booked him into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of child molestation and furnishing marijuana to a minor.

Because the victim is a minor, the Sheriff’s Department cannot release any further information at this time.
