Well, I checked. If it had been added to the 2014/2015 budget it would have. This is not the case. This is not a done deal yet because this year Tourism will be asking for $600,000. Yes you are reading this correctly. The extra $100,000 is the amendment and has to be approved as part of the coming years budget. this way it will only need a 3 vote majority instead of 4/5th.
My question is why the maneuvering? We have some very clever inventive minds at work.What the people in this county want and need is not a priority here any more. The BID tax added approximately $150,000 to tourism this year. They don,t need the extra money. I suggest that we eliminate the $100,000, decrease the $500,000 to $400,000 and use the resulting $200,000 for public safety and road repair.
Lets take control of our county back and stop buying into the maneuvering that is happening.
