November 3, 2017 - Yesterday U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) presented 12 video interviews with Central Valley veterans to Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden to officially become a part of the Library of Congress Veterans History Project.

veterans history project logoThe Veterans History Project, created through an act of Congress in 2000, invites veterans from conflicts ranging from World War I to the Iraq war to share their story through audio or visual interviews, memoirs or photographic documentation for archival with the Library of Congress. Rep. Denham and his staff have recorded stories from 12 Central Valley veterans, with excerpts from 11 shared on Rep. Denham’s FacebookInstagram and YouTube pages as part of his Thank-a-Vet Thursday (#TVT) initiative. The 12th preview video will be released as a #TVT video this week.

“These proud veterans’ have shared their patriotic stories with the rest of the world. They are a reminder to a grateful nation that promises made to our veterans must be kept,” said Rep. Denham. “Veteran health care, education and work opportunities are just a few of the issues that Congress must continue to focus on.”

Rep. Denham’s #TVT social media initiative aims to increase awareness of the sacrifices and good works of veterans in our communities and to thank them for their service. He invites and encourages others at home in California and here in Washington to join him in using #TVT to thank our nation’s veterans and raise awareness of the great history of our nation’s armed services and service members.
