Fortunately this error was caught in a timely enough manner that we were able to correct the ballots that will be at the polling places on Election Day, so no action is needed. However, if you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the Mariposa County elections Office by phone at: (209)966-2007 or by e-mail at cmorrow@mariposacounty.org.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Earlier Information:

It has recently come to the attention of the Mariposa County Elections that due to a printing error on our recently mailed vote by mail ballots and County voter information guides, Mitchell White, candidate for United States Representative is listed with a Democratic Party Preference, even though he actually represents the Republican Party. We have conferred with Mr. White, along with the California Secretary of State and Mariposa County Counsel to determine the best course of action to take for all involved.

Consequently, all voters in Mariposa County should expect to receive information by US Mail pertaining to this error in the near future. This mailing will be a half sheet postcard that is white with red printing, and it will be an Official Election Mailing. We ask that voters pay particular attention to their mail for this in the meantime.

The timing of the discovery of the error has allowed for the correction of all ballots that will be at polling places on Election Day. We will also have a sufficient supply of corrected ballots in the Elections Office as soon as possible.

If you have immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Mariposa County Elections Department at (209) 966-2007.

Thank you.
