Fire
With the combination of critical firing operations and natural growth, the fire grew approximately 3,500 acres since yesterday. With stable air mass, the fire activity continues to be moderate allowing suppression time for the fire fighters.
Smoke
A persistent inversion has trapped smoke in the vicinity of the fire and the inversion has persisted well into the afternoon for couple days. Smoke tends to move into the lower elevations nightly due to drainage winds with only limited improvement at higher elevations as well. This pattern is forecast to continue, and smoke impacts will continue to depend on the fire activity.
Other
Denser smoke for short periods can aggravate symptoms for sensitive person without changing overall 24-hr AQI levels. Note: AQ forecasts below reflects only particulate matter – no ozone
