Welcome to the Mariposa County Fire Department (MCFD) Spotlight Member of the Month column. Each month Mariposa County Fire will introduce you to one of its volunteer members. 

Paul-LockwoodMeet Paul Lockwood, a tool and die maker. Paul is self-employed dba High Sierra Mfg. Co. doing custom machine work.

Paul has been a member of MCFD since May, 1979. He has served for 36 years! He joined the department to be of service to the community.

Paul is a member of Midpines Station 21. The Midpines Fire Company is located in the heart of Midpines at Midpines Park. They provide primary coverage to Midpines and secondary coverage to El Portal, Mariposa, Mt. Bullion/Airport and Bootjack companies.

When asked what he would say to others about being a member he said, “There are many different jobs in the fire department and there is at least one job for which you are perfectly suited.”

Paul also shared that one of the most important things he has learned during his training is to put safety first!
