Mariposa Firefighters Local 2881 will Fill-the-Boot to raise funds for the local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Firefighters will ask passing motorists to donate dollars and change to “Fill-the-Boot” on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 140 and Hwy 49 in Mariposa.MDA and the IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) joined forces in 1954. For over 60 years IAFF has remained committed to improving the lives of those living with one of the 43 muscle diseases covered by MDA. With help from the Firefighters, MDA provides the following services to local families; monthly support groups, medical clinics, medical equipment and the annual Youth Summer Camp that is 100% wheelchair accessible – even the swimming pool!
