JUNE 30, 2015 - California ISO Declares Flex Alert for California
The California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) is declaring a Flex Alert for June 30, 2015 and July 1, 2015 for California.
Consumers are urged to reduce their energy use during the late afternoon when air conditioners drive consumption to the highest point of the day. Find Flex Alert tips at www.caiso.com.
Outlook for June 30 Flex Alert
High temperatures are forecast for California. Energy demand is expected to be high and consumers are urged to reduce energy usage between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Forecast peak demand: 44,700 megawatts around 6:00 p.m.
Outlook for July 1, 2015 Flex Alert
Hot weather is forecast to remain in place today and peak energy demand will continue stress the grid. The California ISO is urging reduced energy usage between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. PDT.
