July 2, 2015 - Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office asks that you partner with local Law Enforcement and Fire to help protect our community during this holiday weekend.
As a reminder:
ZERO TOLERANCE - FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN MARIPOSA COUNTY
Violation of fireworks laws are subject to a maximum of $1,000 fine and up to one year in county jail. However, if you possess large quantities of dangerous fireworks, prosecutors could charge you with a felony, punishable by up to three years in California state prison and fines up to $50,000.
“FIREWORKS” INCLUDE but are not limited to:
Safe and Sane Fireworks Sparklers Rockets
Black Cartridges Snakes Firecrackers
Roman Candles Fountains Fire Balloons
Torpedo Canes Squibs Torpedoes
Or ANY OTHER COMBUSTIBLE DEVICE, EXPLOSIVE SUBSTANCE OR ANY KIND OF FIREWORKS, by whatsoever name known:
within Mariposa County and anywhere within the Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests.
