July 23, 2022 - Merced – March 20, 2022, a report was filed with Merced Police Department about ongoing sexual abuse with a child. MPD TellezThe abuse took place between 2015 and 2020. The suspect in the case was identified as 45-year-old Anthony Mark Tellez of Merced.

Detective Cruz Jasso investigated the case and worked with the Merced County District Attorney’s Office to get charges filed against Tellez. A warrant was issued for Tellez arrest.

On July 20, 2022, Tellez was arrested in the 1600 block of Louise Ave. in Merced. Tellez was booked into the Merced County Jail for lewd acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse with a child under 14 and lewd acts with a child while the perpetrator is 10 years older than the child.
