Update Per Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office 8/24/22 at 8:26 A.M.: The fire advisement for the Stockton Creek Road area has been lifted.

Update: It has been reported that the forward progress of the Miller Fire seems to have been stopped, and mop up has started. See evening picture below.

August 23, 2022 - Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO photo) has issued a fire advisory because of a vehicle fire on Hwy. 49 and Old Hwy., for the Miller Fire, near the town of Mariposa.

A fire advisement has been issued for the Stockton Creek Road area due to a nearby fire. This is not an evacuation notice; it is simply to notify residents in the area of the potential need to evacuate should conditions change.

If you do not feel safe, please do not wait to be told to leave the area.
