October 20, 2022 - On Monday, October 17th, 2022, at about 4:30 A.M. in the morning, deputies responded to the area of Circle Drive in Jamestown for a report of person in a vehicle Tuolumne County Sheriff 2021who had fired a gun towards house approximately an hour earlier. Deputies checked on residents in the home and determined that 26-year-old Oscar Batt was a suspect and was known to the victims and residents of the home. Deputies located three spent shell casings in the area. They searched the area but did not locate the suspect or anyone suspicious.

About an hour later, deputies responded back to the area of Circle Drive for a report a single gunshot. When neighbors came outside, they saw someone running from the area and up a hill. Deputies searched the area but did not locate any suspects. Deputies investigated the scene and located bullet holes in the victim’s fence and vehicle. Detectives responded to the area and took over the investigation. They got a description of the suspect vehicle and additional suspects involved.

Just before 9:00 A.M., detectives located the suspect vehicle near the Tuolumne County Superior Court. Oscar Batt was located and arrested inside of the courthouse while deputies and detectives detained the occupants of the vehicle, 18-year-old Gerald Quinnalcorn and 21-year-old Philip Batt. Deputies searched Quinnalcorn and found a small bag of methamphetamine. Detectives searched the vehicle and located a loaded handgun, drug use paraphernalia, and open containers of alcohol and marijuana.

Oscar Batt was transported to the Dambacher Detention Center (DDC) where he was booked on charges of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, conspiracy to commit a crime, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, felony child abuse, and possession of drug use paraphernalia. Quinnalcorn was arrested and transported to the DDC where he was booked on charges of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, conspiracy to commit a crime, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug use paraphernalia. Phillip Batt was arrested and transported to the DDC where he was booked on charges of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, conspiracy to commit a crime, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and possession of drug use paraphernalia. This investigation is on-going and no additional information will be released.
