December 12, 2022 - The Madera County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports on Saturday December 10, 2022 shortly after 3:30 P.M., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a request to mcso1212provide assistance to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol in locating outstanding suspects from an armed robbery in Fresno County. The suspects from that incident stole a vehicle, fled the scene, and were observed driving into Madera County.

MCSO Patrol Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the area of CA-145 and Island Drive in Madera. A subject from the vehicle leg bailed before being apprehended and taken into custody. An abandoned vehicle believed to be associated with the incident was located at a residence in the area of Road 37 and Avenue 16.

During the course of this investigation, some residents in the area were asked to remain indoors for their safety. Deputies from MCSO and FSO searched several residences of interest and conducted a thorough search of the area to locate additional outstanding suspects. Two remaining suspects were subsequently arrested by Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Sheriff Tyson Pogue states, “MCSO would like to thank residents for their cooperation and support during the investigative process of this incident. We appreciate the diligence and professionalism of our partners at the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, and are grateful for the successful apprehension of all outstanding suspects with no further danger to the public.”

The investigation into this case remains ongoing and residents may observe ongoing law enforcement activity in the area. We advise residents in the area to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to our office at (559) 675-7770 or 9-1-1 if there is an immediate danger.
