December 13, 2022 - On Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 4:13 p.m., Southeast officers responded to an apartment complex in the 5100 block of East Lane Avenue regarding a shooting victim. Officers located 42-year-old Bernardo Coronado, in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshots to his upper body. Despite life-saving measures by Fresno Fire and EMS, Coronado succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased at 6:30 p.m.

Homicide Unit detectives learned Coronado was at the apartment complex visiting his girlfriend when an argument ensued between Coronado and several other subjects. One of the subjects fired multiple times, striking Coronado.

Detectives are continuing to work with residents and businesses in the area, looking for witnesses and video surveillance. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Fresno Police Department.
