December 26, 2022 - FRESNO AND KINGS COUNTIES, Calif. – Last week, The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in collaboration with Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture, announced the completion of two new high-speed rail structures in the Central Valley. The Adams Avenue grade separation in Fresno County and Cairo Avenue structure in Kings County are now open to traffic.

The Adams Avenue grade separation is located between Cedar and Maple avenues, south of the City of Fresno. The grade separation spans 357 feet long, is 40 feet wide and takes traffic over the existing BNSF and future high-speed rail lines.

The Cairo Avenue structure is between Eighth and Ninth avenues in Kings County and will take high-speed trains over Cairo Avenue. It spans 84 feet long and more than 43 feet wide and is built to accommodate two sets of tracks for future high-speed trains.

The Authority recently announced the project has created nearly 9,800 construction jobs since work building the nation’s first high-speed rail line began. This includes 3,269 jobs going to residents from Fresno County, 1,826 from Kern County, 977 from Tulare County, 424 from Madera County and 353 from Kings County.
