January 8, 2023 – Merced – The Merced Police Department reported the following. On Saturday, January 7, 2023, the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant in the 600 block of Trudy Way. They arrested a man wanted by California State Parole and he was found in possession of a ghost gun and narcotics.

On January 7, 2023, at approximately 3:00 P.M., the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit received information regarding the location of a wanted parolee Nicolas Martinez (30). Officers served a search warrant in the 600 block of Trudy Way. During the service of the search warrant Martinez tried to flee out a bedroom window and perimeter officers were able to capture Martinez.

When officers searched the residence, they located an unregistered 9mm handgun with an extended magazine and several bags of narcotics. Martinez was booked into Merced County Jail for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and his outstanding warrant.
