January 14, 2023 - The Public Works team, in conjunction with the OES team from the Madera County Sheriff's Office, have been working to assess the recent damages to public infrastructure from this last storm event, some of which is pictured below, and begin working on strategies for repairs of these damages.

There are several locations where roadways have been closed due to extensive flooding and/or road washouts. See link below for previous post identifying Road Closure locations:

We ask that travelers DO NOT try and go around these closures as there are dangerous conditions that exist to the traveling public within these closure areas.

We also ask for cooperation from the public to not steal/remove signs, barricades, cones, and other warning devices that have been placed out on roadways as this puts others at risk if proper warning devices are not in place.

In parallel to performing damage assessments, crews are also preparing for the incoming storm that will arrive this weekend and is forecasted to last through early next week. Current damage locations will be monitored and new damage locations will be tracked and evaluated during and after the storm event.
