January 20, 2023 - Mariposa County Office of Emergency Services is seeking information to provide to state and federal partners, in hopes of obtaining financial support for the County and individual residents, following the recent weather event.

If you experienced damage due to the 2022/2023 Atmospheric Weather Event (winter storms beginning December 27th, 2022), please visit the following link: https://arcg.is/00qijD0 and answer all questions to the best of your ability. Please note that completion of the survey does not guarantee financial assistance.

Mariposa County will use this information to request additional assistance (specifically for individuals) from state and federal partners. If significant damage and a need for financial aid can be proven, the chance of approval for funding will increase.

At this time, President Biden has included Mariposa County in an Emergency Declaration. This type of declaration is limited to immediate and short-term assistance essential to save lives and protect public health, safety, and property. After reviewing some of the reports and requests, President Biden declared a Major Disaster Declaration for the following counties: (Merced, Sacramento, and Santa Cruz). This type of declaration provides additional federal funding that includes individuals. President Biden may add other counties as conditions allow for better damage assessments. If FEMA offers individual assistance for our community, Mariposa County will share that information with our community at that time. To learn more about the declaration process and what is included with each type, you can check out http://www.fema.gov/.../fact.../dad_disaster_declaration.pdf

If you have an immediate need for help due to storm damage and/or flooding, please contact Mariposa County Health and Human Services at 1-209-966-2000 to learn about potential programs and services.
