January 29, 2023 - Merced – The Merced Police Department reported the following information. On Thursday, January 26, 2023, at approximately 1:25 P.M., the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit arrested a man during the service of a search warrant in Dos Palos for possession of firearms and narcotics for sale.

The Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit obtained information from the Merced County Sheriff Departments Supervise Release Team regarding illegal drug sales and firearms possession at a home in Dos Palos.

After an investigation, Merced PD Gang Officers served a search warrant in the 1200 block of Golden Gate Ave. in Dos Palos. When officers searched the home of Arturo Flores (39) they located 20 grams of heroin, methamphetamine, drug scales and packaging material. Officer also located a 9mm handgun, an AR-15 rifle, and a WW2 Sten Mark II 9mm submachine gun. There were several large capacity magazines and ammunition found in the home.

Flores was arrested and booked into Merced County Jail for possession of narcotics for sale, possession of firearms and ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of an assault rifle.
