fstop-logoThe Mariposa County Arts Council is pleased to offer a series of free photography classes for residents of Mariposa County 55 years of age and older. F/STOP is a digital photography workshop focused on the artistic elements of photography using iPod Touch cameras. These classes will be offered in Greeley Hill at the Greeley Hill Senior Annex on Wednesdays this fall.

Because of the popularity of this program classes have been expanded and in addition to offering an introductory workshop, an extended workshop has been added for returning participants.

In the New Participants workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of photography: vantage points, composition, lighting, and the elements of art. This course has four meetings: on Wednesdays, September 30, October 7, 14, and 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In the Returning Participants workshop, participants will be able to take home an iPod Touch camera for several weeks to conceptualize, photograph, and edit their own project. This course has five meetings: on Wednesdays, September 30, October 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For both workshops, all equipment is provided.

To register please contact the Mariposa County Arts Council office at: (209) 966-3155 or email: friedland@mariposaartscouncil.org. Space is limited.

This program is supported by the Fresno Regional Foundation and the California Arts Council’s Local Impact program.
