March 6, 2023 - Madera County Sheriff's Office officials reported that on March 3, 2023, around 3:00 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call regarding a potentially collapsed roof at a mobile home in Bass Lake.

MCSO Deputies responded along with EMS and CALFIRE. Upon arrival at the residence, deputies spoke to the homeowner, who advised her roof was beginning to slope and she was concerned about it collapsing. She declined transport or medical assistance, and deputies helped her with a plan to leave if conditions worsened. They also spoke with her neighbors who offered to help remove snow from the roof.

On March 5, 2023, shortly before 9:30 a.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call regarding a collapsed commercial building on Cowboy Trail in Bass Lake.

The owner of the building indicated it was used for storage and there was no one inside. MCSO Deputies responded to the area along with crews from CALFIRE. Upon arrival, they confirmed there were no occupants inside.
