March 12, 2023 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials reported on Friday, narcotics detectives with the Special Investigations Task Force (SITF) seized a large amount of psilocybin (hallucinogenic) mushrooms while serving a search warrant at a home in Selma.

Inside this elaborate illegal drug operation were nearly 500 plastic tubs containing psilocybin mushrooms in the early developmental stages. These mushrooms are sold by the gram and the tubs had the potential of producing close to 33,000 grams in a year. Detectives also uncovered 3,600 grams of processed mushrooms, ready for sale. The total street value of everything found after one year would amount to approximately $200,000.

No suspects were contacted during the search.
