April 7, 2023 - As part of its monthly career lunch series at Mariposa County High School, on Thursday, April 6, the MCHS Academic Boosters Club hosted Richard Blalock, Deputy Circuit Executive for Information Technology, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He spoke with students about his time at Mariposa County High where he was interested in Fire Science and Drama to his secondary education which included online classes. His career path started in college with computer lab support and computer repair and progressed into a variety of Information Technology positions, culminating in his current job managing IT for the U.S. Court of Appeals in 9 western states and territories. Richard also shared with students a number of potential IT careers and degree options. Students were very engaged with his presentation and asked great questions. They enjoyed lunch from 1850 while listening. Richard drew the names of two lucky students who won gift cards from 1850.
