Don’t Be Fooled By Latest Scam! 

May 4, 2023 - Tulare County Sheriff Boudreaux would like to make everyone aware of the latest phone scam.

In this scam, the caller says that he’s Captain Liles from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and if you give him your credit card number, he will take care of a warrant for your arrest.

Please remember, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office will never call anyone and request money to pay for a warrant over the phone or ask for any banking information or pre-paid credit cards.

Please do not fall victim to these types of scams. If you have any questions, or something doesn’t seem right, just call us!

Be aware that deputies do not serve warrants over the phone. If they have a warrant for your arrest, they will knock on your door, not call you on the phone.

If you get a phone call from one of these phone scammers, here’s what you should do:

• Say, “No, thank you” and hang up.
• Do not send money.
• Do not give them your personal information.
• If you become a victim, contact law enforcement.
