Rest Area, Lane & Ramp Closures 
Interstate 5 and State Routes 59, 99 & 152 

May 5, 2023 - MERCED COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Routes 59 (SR-59), SR-99 and SR-152 for maintenance and construction operations. Work to occur as follows;

INTERSTATE 5:

• Full closure of the John C. Erreca Rest Areas on northbound and southbound I-5 beginning Monday, April 4, 2022, through September 30, 2023.

STATE ROUTE 59:

• One-way traffic control or moving closures from Dickenson Road/Mission Avenue to 6th Street for striping operations beginning Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 99:

• Overnight, full on-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at Childs Avenue for construction beginning Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone.
  
  
• Overnight, full off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at Childs Avenue for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone.
  
  
• Full on-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at SR-140/East for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  
  
• Full on and off-ramp closures at SR-140 East on southbound SR-99 for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  
  
• Long-term full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at G Street for construction through May 12, 2023.
  
  
• Full on-ramp closure from G Street to southbound SR-99 for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  
  
• Full on and off-ramp closures from northbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

• Full on and off-ramp closures from Applegate Road to southbound SR-99 for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  
  
• Full on-ramp closures from West Atwater Boulevard to northbound SR-99 for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
  
  
• Full off-ramp closures from southbound SR-99 at West Atwater Boulevard for construction beginning Sunday, May 7, through Friday, May 12, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

STATE ROUTE 152:

• Closure of the #1 (left) lane of eastbound and westbound SR-152 from Los Banos Creek to Badger Flat Road for median/barrier work on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect five to 10-minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
