October 6, 2015 - The Oakhurst area CHP reports on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at approximately 9:23 P.M., Eric Michael Ogden, 23, of Oakhurst and passengers Sondra Santi, 24, of Mariposa and Emma Louise Santi, 24, of Mariposa were traveling in a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, northbound on Highway 41, south of Road 630.
Due to the unsafe speed Eric Ogden was traveling and his level of intoxication he drove the vehicle off the roadway and down an embankment.
The Jetta came to a complete stop and the vegetation beneath the vehicle caught on fire.
All passengers exited the Jetta safely.
Fire personnel responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.
No injuries were claimed at the scene.
Upon CHP arrival, Eric Ogden was evaluated and determined to be Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Mr. Ogden was arrested at the scene of the collision for DUI and was booked into the Madera County Jail.
