October 9, 2015 - La Grange CA. – Since Wednesday, October 7, 2015, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Investigations Division has been investigating the death of a victim who was found on J-59 near Cooperstown Road in La Grange.
The original call came out as a possible motorcycle accident but is being investigated as a Homicide.
The autopsy was completed earlier today and positively identified the victim as Robert Kope, 53, of San Jose.
The cause of death, nor any further information is being released on the investigation at this time.

October 7, 2015 - La Grange CA. – On October 7, 2015 at 10:53 A.M. California Highway Patrol, Fire and Medical personnel were dispatched to a possible motorcycle accident on J-59 near Cooperstown Road in La Grange. Upon arrival they discovered one male subject along the roadway who was deceased.
CHP found signs of foul play and contacted the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department who responded.
Deputies and detectives arrived on scene and are investigating the incident as a homicide. The victim was a male adult. His identity is not being released until detectives can positively identify him and contact his family.
No further information on the case is being released at this time.
