Homicide Investigation 

March 12, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on March 8, 2024, at 10:30 p.m., Central officers responded to 941 West Dakota Avenue after receiving three consecutive Shot Spotter activations. Officers found three gunshot victims: 25-year-old Raymond Martinez (pictured), a 20-year-old Hispanic male, and an 18-year-old Hispanic male.

Martinez was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. The two surviving males were transported to CRMC and were listed in stable condition.

Homicide detectives determined that a birthday party was being celebrated at a nearby apartment when an altercation started between two groups. The incident escalated to the point where gunshots were fired, resulting in the three victims being shot. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this case to contact the Fresno Police Department. This was the fifth murder of the year.
