MCSO in the Field 

April 9, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that deputies responded to an emergency call regarding a possible commercial vehicle fire with smoke that could be seen from the Bass Lake Dam.

Upon arrival, they located an RV on fire on Road 274 near Marina View. The vehicle was fully engulfed by the time fire and law-enforcement arrived, and the owner of the vehicle was nowhere to be found. The scene was turned over to arson investigators with CalFire.

It may not be “fire season,” but it just takes one spark to ignite a wildland fire. Kudos to our partners at CalFire for their swift response and extinguishing this blaze quickly.
