Steve’s Sportsman’s Café to Host Visual and Performing Arts Summer Day Camp
at Mariposa County Parks and Recreation Fundraiser

SummerCamp2

Saturday, May 21, 2016 is the date for the annual Mariposa Relay for Life.  But it is also the date of the Mariposa County Arts Council’s fundraiser at Steve’s Sportsmans Café. Why not plan to start your day with a hearty breakfast at Steve Knauf’s fine restaurant at 3441 Woodland Drive near Woodland School prior to participation in the Relay for Life. Or perhaps, instead, head to Steve’s Sportsmans Café after a long day of walking in support of finding a cure for cancer and share a delicious dinner with friends and or family.

Owner Steve Knauf has graciously agreed to donate a portion of the sales proceeds to the Mariposa County Arts Council to help fund the 2016 Summer Art and Music Day Camp for children, a partnership program between Mariposa County Arts Council and the Mariposa County Parks and Recreation Department.  By having a meal at Steve’s Sportsmans Café on Saturday, May 21 you will prolong and enhance that spirit of generosity and camaraderie that is so abundant in Mariposa and at the same time help fund a wonderful opportunity for children this summer.

This program is jointly sponsored by the Mariposa County Arts Council and the Mariposa County Parks and Recreation Department for children ages 7-12 on Monday-Friday, June 15-August 14, 2016.  The Mariposa County Arts Council portion of this program will include instruction in photography, taught by Cara Goger; music taught by Adam Burns; drama taught by Fred Friedlander; and painting taught be Moira Donohoe.

For more information regarding the summer day camp program and other Mariposa County Arts Council programs, go to their website at: MariposaArtsCouncil.org.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County.
