November 16, 2016 - Our 2016 Youth Art Contest is now open! The theme of this year’s contest is ‘”Discover State Parks” and we invite youth ages 4-18 to participate by creating artwork that shares their experiences in state parks and what they have discovered during their visits.

First, second, and third place winners will be announced for each age category. Winners will receive prize packages from our E-Store, and their artwork will be showcased online, in print, and in venues throughout California.

CSPF hopes that our Youth Art Contest will encourage students to seek inspiration in California’s state parks. We encourage parents, teachers and youth leaders to help spread the word about the youth art contest.

Winners will be announced in January 2017.

ARTWORK ENTRIES

Artwork may be no smaller than 8 x 10 inches and must not exceed 11 x 17 inches.

Any type of paper is acceptable as long as it is no thicker than poster board.

Artist may use any flat medium including chalk, marker, paint, crayon, ink, photography, watercolor, or collage.

RULES

• Contest is open to youth ages 4 – 18.
• All entries should reflect the theme of “Discovering State Parks.”
• Open to individuals only; no collaborative entries.
• All entries must be original and free of copyright restrictions.
• This contest may be administered by teachers, parents, guardians, community groups and any other individual or group.
• Winners will be selected by a panel of judges selected by the California State Parks Foundation.
• Clear and legible entry forms must be included with each submission.
• Omission or illegibility may result in disqualification.
• Entries may use photographs or published images for inspiration, but the submitted entry must be significantly different.
• The entry must be the entrant’s own creation and idea.
• Entries will not be returned.
