January 13, 2017 – A new visitation record was set in 2016 as over 5 Million people visited Yosemite National Park.
December 2016 visitors to Yosemite National Park by auto rises 14.5% from December 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 22.9%.
The Arch Rock Entrance Station (Mariposa -Highway 140) had an increase of visitors by auto of 1.6% compared to December 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 14.3%.
The Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Groveland - Highway 120) had an increase of visitors by auto of 28.1% compared to December 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 33.8%.
The South Entrance (Oakhurst - Highway 41) had a increase of visitors by auto of 17.2% compared to December 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 15.8%.
The total recreation visitors to Yosemite National Park for December 2016 was up by 14.6% compared to December 2015. Year to date numbers show an increase of recreation visitors of 21.2%.
