March 9, 2017 – Driving a Honda Accord on Thursday afternoon, Richard Oswald of Mariposa was traveling into Mariposa on 49 South approaching the intersection of Highway 140 when according to what he said to the CHP his brakes failed.
He then drove into the parking lot of Yosemite Liquors, sideswiped a pickup truck and crossed over Highway 140 into a tree and fence of the Mariposa Arts Council/Chocolate Soup building.
Mr. Oswald was taken by ambulance to John C. Fremont Hospital with what appears to be minor injuries.
