April 10, 2017 - Yosemite Winter Club is inviting all youth (18 and under) winter sport enthusiasts to apply for a Summer Camp Scholarship in their favorite winter sport.

Would you like an opportunity to improve your skiing, ice skating, snowboarding, or ice hockey skills?  It’s easy, just find a summer camp that offers your favorite sport and send in your application. Would you like an opportunity to experience up to two nights accommodation in the Historic Ostrander Ski Hut during the 2017/18 season?  Find an application online at yosemitewinterclub.com. You do not need to be a member to apply. Applications are due Sunday, April 30, 2017. Winners will be selected May 12, 2017. For more information call Phyllis at 209 379-2289.

Yosemite Winter Club is one of the pioneer winter sports organizations in the United States. Since 1928, the Yosemite Winter Club’s mission has been to develop organized winter sports in Yosemite, to foster love for winter activities, to promote amateur competition, and to improve Yosemite’s winter sports facilities. Yosemite Winter Club continues to offer an unsurpassed celebration of winter sports in Yosemite for the past 89 years.

Each year, YWC hosts a series of winter social events to financially support their mission. Their membership fees and fundraising efforts champion their ability to continue to support winter programs such as Yosemite’s ski, ice hockey and ice skating teams, the cross country ski club, and other fun projects that promote winter activities in Yosemite.  The proceeds also allow them to send three local schools to Yosemite Ski & Snow Board Area for ski and snowboard days with instructors.  They also award summer scholarships to either a ski, snowboard, ice skating, ice hockey or mountaineering camps; and youth scholarships for one night stays at Ostrander Hut.
