Banner Quaker Hill Road Body Identified
July 31, 2025 – Nevada City, CA – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 21, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) launched a death investigation after an unidentified individual was found deceased on the side of Banner Quaker Hill Road in Nevada City. Due to the level of decomposition, a positive identification of the individual was not immediately available, nor a cause of death.
Since that time, NCSO detectives have been working on this case and through the course of the investigation, the decedent was identified as Adrian Aaron Aaby, 48, of Grass Valley. Aaby’s family was notified of his passing.
On July 29, an initial examination of the body was performed at Placer County Morgue to determine the cause of death, but autopsy results are presently pending final review by the pathologist. It may take several weeks before NCSO receives the results.
