Homicide Investigation (Update)

November 29, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that during the course of the investigation, the male victim in this case was identified as 57-year-old, Cesar Gaitan, a resident of Moreno Valley. This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.

Original Details:

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 9:37 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station were dispatched to the 13000 block of Heacock Street, Moreno Valley, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.  Upon arrival, responding deputies located a 57-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the male was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The Riverside Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit was requested and assumed the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time, and investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) involved. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available. The victim's identity will not be released pending next of kin notification.
