SWAT Standoff in Spring Valley 

July 4, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials announce that a man has been taken into custody without san diego county sheriff department logoincident after a standoff in Spring Valley. 

On Tuesday, June 30, just before 1:30 p.m., deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station responded to the 9000 block of Mac Lane after getting a call about a man armed with a gun threatening a neighbor.

When deputies arrived, they saw the armed suspect, identified as Julian Lewis (34), retreat into his home. Deputies attempted to de-escalate the incident, but the suspect refused to exit his home.

Due the suspect being armed, the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) was called to the scene. Several Sheriff's Special Response Team (SRT) Deputies also assisted in bringing the standoff to a peaceful resolution.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m., Lewis complied with instructions to surrender. He was taken into custody without incident. No one was hurt.

Lewis will be booked into the San Diego Central Jail on criminal threat-related charges.
