July 25, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 22, homicide detectives with the Fresno FCSO homicide RodriguezCounty Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Luis Rodriguez of Kingsburg. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of murder. His bail is set at $1 million.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18, Kingsburg Police responded to the area of 7th Avenue and Nevada Street in the Kingsburg for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from obvious signs of trauma. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as 25-year-old Alvaro Hernandez Jr. of Kingsburg.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office was requested to take over the investigation. After exploring leads, detectives identified Luis Rodriguez as the primary suspect. Detectives located him in Selma and took him into custody. This remains an ongoing investigation.
