Cold Case – Help Us Solve the Calvin Day Homicide 

September 16, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 29th, 2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of skeletal remains located in a rural area of Mokelumne Hill, Calaveras County, CA.

The skeletal remains were later identified as Calvin Richard Day.

Calvin was located in a shallow grave, and his cause of death was deemed a homicide.

Calvin lived in Tracy, California, and was last seen on October 3rd, 2020, in Stockton, California.

The following day, October 4th, Calvin’s vehicle was found unoccupied and parked in the Weston Ranch subdivision in Stockton.

The investigation did not reveal a direct connection between Day and the location where he was discovered.
