Batteries are NOT Trash! 

December 28, 2025 – CAL FIRE officials issue a battery safety announcement.

After the holidays, many of us have new gadgets... and old batteries to deal with.

Never throw used batteries in the garbage or recycling bin. They can overheat, catch fire, or cause other hazards if not handled properly.

Keep your home and community safe by taking your used batteries to a designated drop-off location. Proper recycling helps prevent fires and protects the environment.
